Astronaut Protection

During the last trip of a space tourist – oops – space flight participant – I certainly followed each and every report regarding the adventures of  Charles Simonyi. There is probably interesting stuff going on on the international space station at all times and I do mostly pick up my weekly feed of “News at NASA” but it is not like it was during the time that Mr. Simonyi was up there with all the media hoopla.

One of the events during his visit into orbit was that Suni Williams, one of the regular crew, ran the Boston marathon up in space. Strapped onto a treadmill  with bungee cords to simulate gravity like all the runners on the planets surface had to overcome she ran her 42.195 kilometers.

I liked the picture of her beaming after she had successfully completed the race, but I thought that she was not dressed happy enough, so with trusty old photoshop we got her a new tie-dye t-shirt we sell on ThaiDye.com and blogged about it.

Now that Suni is safely back on mother earth I tried to get word from NASA how I could reach her to send her an actual tie-dye piece. I did not really ask for a private address (that would be silly, wouldn’t it) but just a way to get in touch with her – but NASA is totally quiet – not even a “you gotta be kidding” kind of remark.

Oh well, at least here again Suni in her great virtual outfit after the race…

… and  maybe, just maybe, word gets to her and she posts here so that we can send out one of them t-shirts or jackets, or tank, or whatever.
