Where I ran into a similar situation with falling or being in love. It's also just a decision and not really influenced by the person in front of me. On the purest level the fact that love is returned has no influence on my decision to love somebody.

I read this book years ago called "Are You Happy?"
by Dennis Wholey. Many different, well known people gave their opinion of what happy is. The person whose explanation most indicated to me was Wayne Dyer. He said in Eastern thought, "Happiness is the way". It's something they've learned, especially the higher-level thinkers. These are people who understand you don't find happiness. It's not anything you'll ever get. It's what you are. If you are happiness and you carry it with you wherever you go,then you bring it to all the activities of your life. It is you and you are it and there's no distinction made. Happiness is a condition that just is. Wayne said Abraham Maslow called happiness a psychology of being rather than a psychology of becoming. And when you have that inside you, then you always have it, even when things are bad. What you understand is that an obstacle is an opportunity for a breakthrough.
I've always loved what Wayne had to say about happiness and I know it's possible to just be happiness even when things aren't going your way.
Everyone has obstacles in their life, but they're not so terrible if you are being happiness down deep inside. I truly believe that happiness does depend solely on what you think, what and who you think you truly are.

This is so easy to understand with your head - but sometimes hard to get into your guts.

You're welcome. Here's a quote by Dale Carnegie that I really like and it fits in perfectly with this video: "Remember, happiness doesn't depend on who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think".
