I also try, somewhat obsessively, to see things from other people's point of view, and have regarded that as a virtue. But that often makes things more complicated than they need to be. And, I must admit, I've often learned something from people who very uncompromisingly maintain their own viewpoint and refuse to see that of others. That’s an interesting angle to things.
